AbstractThe Sculpture of Ron Dewey
It has been my goal with the spiritual art to combine
transparency and color with the substantiveness of metal
- spirit/form. This duality runs through the Earth
Existence. Spirit underlies the tangible and within that
duality lies this dichotomy, that which appears tangible
is transient and that which seems ethereal is eternal.
Beyond this underlying philosophy the work speaks for itself.
The use of minimal forms with soft surfaces yet sharp
definition, superb craftsmanship and enduring materials.
Note: While the work shown is of gallery size, all forms
can be enlarged as commercial installations. Also, site
specific commission work of similar images is welcome.
artist's statement:The Spiritual
Art
Within this semi-ordered chaos, the soul exists in timeless
awareness and using matter in its many facets as a forging
process. As this process goes forth and soul becomes more
and more obvious within those points of matter that rise
above the chaos, matter is transformed. As the visionary
architect, Paolo Soleri said, "The bridge between spirit
and matter is matter becoming spirit."
This is the goal of spiritual art... to express that
symbiotic transformation that elevates
both spirit and matter and holds the hope for true
integration out to struggling humanity.
